GUT HEALTH 101

✨GUT HEALTH✨ is a popular topic lately and for good reason! When our gut health is off, it can affect so many different aspects of our health!


Did you know that digestion actually starts before we even eat? When we see, smell or even think about food, our gut starts releasing hormones and starts processes to get our body ready for food! How incredible is that!?


The gut also contains the microbiome - balance of bacteria to help the breakdown of nutrients, producing hormones and enzymes for further reactions. A strong microbiome is KEY to a strong immune system and overall health


UNDERSTANDING: we can fix so many problems we currently have by fixing bad lifestyle habits!


Here are some SIGNS OF POOR GUT HEALTH:


😴low energy

💩irregular bowel movements

🥴feeling full or bloated

🍫constantly hungry/full

🤒sick often

⚖️unbalanced hormones

🧴acne, dry skin, eczema

TIPS TO IMPROVE GUT HEALTH


☝🏼increase fiber: fruits, veggies, whole grains

💦Increase hydration

🚶‍♀️take a walk after eating a meal
