'Twas the night before Fitness Christmas

'Twas the night before Christmas, when all through the gym, Not a dumbbell was lifted, but we entered on a whim; The weight belts were hung on the wall by the door, But we Nibbles Fitness ladies were doing pushups, there on the floor; Others were nestled all snug in their Christmas pies, While visions of abs escaped their eyes; And we in our leggings, and fitness tanks, Had just sweated our hearts out and gave thanks; Because out there in the world there arose such a debate, About the good and bad carbs, and we try to explain; That carbs are not bad; The right amount is good, not a fad; The light of knowledge about the basics of food, Gave hope to us in mid-life and encouraged our mood, When, what to our wondering eyes should appear, But miniature muscles, and it all became clear; I was once chubby and plump, a right jolly old elf, And I was still loved, in spite of myself; Three years of consistency without losing my head, Soon gave me to know I had nothing to dread; We spoke not a word, but went straight to our work, And filled all the new blue jeans; with muscles and a smirk, And we smile inside when people ask for the secret, And giving a nod, we realize it’s tragic; That people don’t really want to know, That they simply must eat a little less of the dough; But we won’t judge, because we understand; And we love the ladies across the land; And so, we exclaim, as we nibble a small bite, HAPPY CHRISTMAS TO ALL, AND TO ALL A GOOD-NIGHT!

The picture is of me and my mountain man husband Randy, the cat whisperer, the one who nurtured me back to life a long time ago. MERRY CHRISTMAS!
